From WaterRower to NOHRD
NOHRD grew from WaterRower’s German sales and distribution business. After relocating to Nordhorn in 2005, the company found the skilled workforce, manufacturing expertise and space needed to begin developing fitness equipment of its own.
Demand from WaterRower customers for complementary, design-led equipment led to the creation of NOHRD in 2007. Even the name was inspired in part by “NOH”—the local vehicle registration code seen throughout Nordhorn.

Working with Natural Wood
Wood is a natural material, and no two pieces are exactly alike. Understanding its individual grain, tone and character requires experience and careful attention.
Wooden components are selected, shaped, sanded and finished to preserve their natural appearance while preparing them for years of regular use. Subtle differences in grain and colour ensure that every finished product has its own distinctive character.
Handcraft Meets Precision
Modern manufacturing technology provides accuracy and consistency where each measurement and connection matters. Skilled hands then bring sensitivity to the details that machines cannot replicate.
Surfaces are carefully finished, components precisely fitted and materials brought together with close attention to alignment, movement and touch. This balance of advanced production and traditional hand-finishing defines the NOHRD approach.

Each product is assembled with attention to both mechanical performance and visual finish. Moving components are checked for smooth operation, surfaces are inspected and individual elements are adjusted to work together as intended.
This attention continues through to final inspection, helping ensure that every NOHRD product meets the standards expected of equipment made in Germany.
