Our Partnership With British Rowing

Our Partnership With British Rowing

A Great Team.

Since the Rio 2016 Olympic Games, we have been proud to be recognized as the Official Water Rowing Machine of British Rowing, the national governing body for rowing in the UK, which saw more than half a million people participate in the sport in 2021.

It was an obvious fit. We design and manufacture the world’s finest rowing machines while British Rowing have been dominating on the water at the Olympics for nearly two decades. Since Sydney 2000, British rowers have bought home 29 Olympic medals, 12 of them gold.

Both British Rowing and WaterRower share a passion for promoting the many physical and mental health benefits of rowing with the aim of increasing participation in all forms. As such we have worked closely with British Rowing since November 2016.

Passion for growing the sport runs to the very core of our business. WaterRower CEO Peter King is proud of the partnership, and believes that through working closely with British Rowing, “together we are able to introduce indoor rowing to the widest possible audience.”

Ben Duggan, UK Director of WaterRower adds “Over the last five years, we have enjoyed working with British Rowing on our shared mission of growing indoor rowing participation. It is a privilege to collaborate with an organisation that has such a long tradition of excellence.”

The feeling is mutual. British Rowing Director of Partnerships and Communications Kenny Baillie describes the collaboration as a unique opportunity “to communicate the broad benefits of the sport to a wide audience, thanks to WaterRower’s innovative vision for growing the sport of indoor rowing.”

Since Sydney 2000, British rowers have bought home 29 Olympic medals, 12 of them gold.

This month we were delighted to announce that we are continuing this partnership and have committed to continue working with British Rowing as their Official Water Rowing Machine through to the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Most importantly, the partnership allows us to have an immediate impact on the development of the sport in the UK.

In November 2016, we developed a bespoke British Rowing edition WaterRower. A special edition model finished in sustainably-sourced Appalachian White Oak featuring the official British Rowing logo. A portion of the proceeds from every British Rowing WaterRower sold is donated to British Rowing development projects, providing valuable support to grassroots initiatives nationwide.
